It's so true. They look nice from the outside, and are in a great location. But it's not worth dealing with management. Pat is an absolutely horrible person who hates everyone, especially students. She will threaten you with anything she can, and will not respect your privacy. They also do enter without notice, as my housemate woke up to the maintenance man entering her room.
These apartments are new, but don't let that fool you. EVERYTHING breaks!!!! seriously, everything. It's aweful. And then the maintenence man pretends to fix it, but doesn't actually know how to. Aweful!!!!!
VERY OVERPRICED.
DON'T MOVE IN HERE! Just having to deal with Pat (the property manager) makes it not worth moving into. And they try to steal your security deposit!!!!

If you have a problem with management, try going in and discussing it and taking some responsibility for your actions.

I have to agree with jhoops00. The UCSC students (undergrad mostly I think) are thoughtless, loud, inconsiderate, and I suspect, act like victimized crybabies when they are called on their behavior. Seriously, these kids should be kept in a barn, not an apartment complex.
I've been here for over 2 years and never had any problems with the management. However I have experienced things breaking - we've had some extensive electrical problems, and needed a new dishwasher. Eddie the maintenance guy has always worked hard to resolve our issues promptly. Overall, my experience here has been pleasant.
