Stay AWAY!

Years at this apartment: 2002 - 2003
This is one of the worst apartments ever! If anybody tells you otherwise, they are lying. Lets start at the begining. I had moved with my friend for about a month for the first summer session last year. I had to pay the application fee. Once the summer session was over, I moved out of my friends apartment. A month later, I moved in with two other people. Before signing the papers I asked them if I could just use my old application, which was less than two months old since I had moved out. She stated that I was not able to use it because she did not want look for my application in the archives. So they made me pay that stupid application fee again.
When we signed the lease, one of the perks for that month was three months of free "high speed internet access." I took forever just to get the service set up because they never faxed in my request into the ISP and then later the internet sometimes would not even work and/or it was slow.
When I moved into the apartment they said that it was going to be cleaned. Well when I got there, it was really dirty, the carpets where stained, (the person that did the walk through with us, stated that it must have been the carpet cleaners who left the big white and yellow stains on the carpet). There was garbage everywhere that was left by the old tenants. The bathroom was dirty and the place smelled sooooo bad and the fan in the bathroom made soo much noise. I later found out that its not suppose to make that much noise, because when they came to fix the faucets in the bathroom the handyman noticed that it made a lot of noise and replaced the fan. Of course, this should have been taken care of before we moved into the apartment.
At the begining of this year the place got even worse. There was termites in the apartment. We told them, they checked it out and they said that they would not be doing anything about it because the termites were not causing any type of structural damage. But the termites did leave bunch of debris on the kitchen floor.
Because we decided to pay $100 less for the two room apartment, we were stuck with really old circa 1970's appliances. The stove sometimes would not work, the oven did not work becuase it always burnt everything. The refrigerator's magnet came off one time and the door did not close properly, so when they came to fix it, they just glued the magnet back on the door.
And it is true what other people say about the gardners and how they wake you up really early in the morning. But if you live by the dumpster, you get to wake up even earlier becuase of all that noise the garbage people make when they come and pick it up.
Every time that I went into my apartment it would smell so bad. I left my windows open from the time that I woke up (usually around 8am) till i went to bed (12am). and it still smelled badly. When moved back home, I had to wash all of my clothes becuase they smelled so bad.
Don't be fooled by the "perks" that they give you, just run away from this place. The spa hardly ever works and its not cleaned very often, the "game room" sucks because everyting was old and the "gym" sucks as well. And regarding getting your deposit back, its unlikely that you will get everything back, they never mentioned to use that the carpet had to be steam cleaned and that $100 would be deducted from the deposit to get the carpet cleaned. When I asked them if I can see a list of the deductions made to the deposit they stated that, that is the reason that they only send it to one person in the lease, so they would not have to send it out to everybody in the lease. The lady stated that she would send it to me if she had time. Until today, I have recieved nothing from them.
The only thing that I have left to say, is that if your thinking of moving in, you should stay away.
