The complex initially looks a little old and dark from outside, but if you can get a apartment that faces the garden, the pool and the pond at the back, then it will be your best deal in Santa Cruz (Live Oak) area. The manager is a nice, responsible lady. The rent was $950 when I lived there and there was no lease (month-to-month). I now understand that its bathroom was also fairly spacious compared to my new apatment with 2BR. It has a decent laundry (new machines 4wash-4dry, 75cents).
Some down sides: There have been a few incidents of underwear stealing from the laundry room. Parking for visitors can be limited and hard to find at times.

The Granada Garden Apartments - Are very lovely & most of the units have had lovely upgrades since 2004 It has had new Manager since Oct 2004 loads of improvements have made it a very nice place to live & heat is included. One of Santa Cruz finest properies 100% occupied hard to get in. Rentals are rented in advance. Many applicants fill out applications and wait to get in. Great place! Great location! And Great Manager.

No 24hr notice for repairs/water shut off. Not enough washer/dryers. Very dark at night. Only timely notice is to pay your rent. Apt manager is nice but VERY NOSY.
