Another side... From: -Anonymous- Date posted: 8/10/2004 Years at this apartment: 2004 - 2004   I've just moved to the Bay Area from South Florida and into Archstone Sausalito. Because I almost didn't consider this property because of some of the postings here, I wanted to give some initial impressions. I realize it's early (and I am hopeful they won't try to overly inflate my rent when it comes time to renew), but I have found the management to be professional and helpful. The maintenance staff responds within a reasonable time and the grounds are well maintained. Sure, there is dog ---- around, but that is a comment on some of the people who live here, not the management. Besides, I've never lived in a dog-friendly complex where there wasn't some ---- laying around. The cost is fair given the view and location, and the Marin City folks don't seem interested in trekking up the hill to bother their Sausalito neighbors. The move-in cost was quite fair and the apartments are a good size. Yes, you can hear your neighbors upstairs, but that is a reality of apartment life. I chose to live in an apartment with upstairs neighbors. The people living at Archstone are quite nice and having an entry to the Marin Headlands just outside my door really rocks for me and my dog. The gym is small, but well maintained. Haven't tried the pool or hot tub yet, but it seems folks enjoy both. There are plenty of nearby stores and restaurants. Finally, the commute into the city is convenient with a bus stopping nearby in the morning and dropping me off within steps of my apartment in the afternoon. I would definitely recommend this complex.
