Not Bull, Bull. From: -Anonymous- Date posted: 5/27/2004 Years at this apartment: 2001 - 2002   Responding back to the other review trying to make this a color issue. It isn't a color issue. I was of mixed race, but because I wasn't dark enough and looked too white, the majority black community could care less. It's a culture issue. If you like living in an area where bands of juveniles in gangsta style clothes walk arond aimlessly and get into your business, rap music blares from cars and idle people, people yell at each other on the street, garbage by littering is cast about, and crime as a constant tension and reality - and you pay for it, this is your place. It is amazing to read this is still an issue now the rental market in Marin is so good for tenants. The issues you read from the people here are true. Management sold them (and myself when I was there) a lie of security and good neighbors, and well kept grounds. WRONG. Once you are in, you are forgotten. Marin City is a dump. I advise one go and drive around and spend sometime walking there if you are looking. Do this also in the evening. I had one guest get accosted about his watch and was blocked. Fortunetly he was more street savy then he appeared to the criminal element. Ridgeway was a bad experience and I regret the money I paid them. It was one of my first rental experiences on my own. There is so much better out there, don't be fooled my the outward appearences. That's all management cares about. For the person that thinks Sausalito wants that area, that is wrong. Sausalito cares nothing for that area since it was a empty flea market grounds too in its past. I moved into a nice older place in Sausalito after this place and no one cares for that section of Marin City, since it doesn't care for itself and is bitter to anyone who is not black or is of a different income bracket. They stereotype you!
