I currently live @ Meadowood. Not a bad place to live as far as tenants go even though the cops have arrested people on probably... um... 6 occasions in the last 6 months since I?ve been there. 2 of them from the same apt. and I?m glad cos they were loud as hell. My son got blamed one night for the noise they were making. Normally I?d say it?s in a good area of Simi as it?s right next door to Von?s but the picketers have been so loud I?ve almost called the cops and I?m not a whiner when it comes to noise. They are good about fixing things that break, however, Brenda is quite a grouch and things seem to be breaking too often. I?ve had to call them 4 or 5 times in the same 6 months. For 800 sq. ft. and a really bad layout so that it feels smaller than it is, it is WAY over priced... even for Simi Valley, which is very expensive. None of the utilities are included (not water, SEWER or trash) and the pipes are quite noisy. The laundry room, which requires a key to enter, closes at 10pm and opens at 8am. This is not very convenient and a little annoying as clearly they are trying to keep tenants out, not non-tenants which I could appreciate. What?s up with that' Still the vending machine in one of the laundy rooms was set on fire (maybe blew up') or something 3 months ago and never got replaced. I loved that thing. :(
Also, my car got broken into, they tried to steal my CD player but just destroyed the door and the area that the CD player was in instead. They have a security car that drives through once in awhile, I think I've seen it 3 or 4 times. You see the cops a lot more but they?re usually there to arrest someone. If my apartment was $400 less a month... I?d stay but it?s not and it?s going up... so I?m leaving. I?d rather go to "crackside" at least it?s 78 more sq. ft. for $125 less a month. They also have actual security personnel walking around.
