We have lived at Shadow Ridge for 2 months now. We love the apartment, the grounds and the rent. Every thing was GREAT until our upstairs neighbors moved out. The new tenants have small children and they apparently think that kids have the right to run, jump and pound as much as they want because - after all - they are kids! We are currently working with the management and are hopeful that they can help us to resolve this. The floors are exceptionally thin and even the softest walking can be hearsd clearly from upstairs, but we are only concerned with the excessive noise. We will update soon to let you know how management handles this.

Otherwise, this is a wonderful place. There are the normal apartment issues that you have to deal with - vandalism (especially around the pool and jacuzzi), people climbing walls and fences, and limited parking. Being pet friendly means dog poop all over the grass areas, but the landscaping crew does a remarkable job of maintaining the grounds. So far, maintenance has been very responsive (although they have not been able to properly fix our air conditioning for over 2 months).

Listen - no apartment is perfect and this is no exception. We signed a "good neighbor" policy when we moved in and we are holding up our end of the bargain. It remains to be seen if our neighbors will be held to the same standard.

Update 9/4/2009 - well, the problem neighbor issue has only gotten worse. Shadow Ridge management has not been able to reduce the noise and the neighbors are not interested in trying to cooperate. Managements reply is that we are both at fault - them because of the noise and me because I have complained about the noise. Really - I am not kidding. The "good neighbor policy" seems to be lip service only. Too bad - it is a nice place but the staff is not able to make decisions or handle situations.
