I moved to Sonora to work at the hospital, and found first off that finding an apartment is pretty difficult in Sonora. Mono apartments seemed the nicest, but the waiting list was several months. Most of the other places I checked were low-income reserved. Quail Hollow was the only place that could get me something fairly quickly (2 week wait), so I took it.
The apartments themselves were alright. Carpets, storage, floors, walls--were in good shape. However, my bathroom was filthy when I arrived, and my refrigerator leaked the entire time I was there despite maintenance coming to "fix" it several times. The Air Conditioner vents did not work in one of the rooms and they told me there was no way to fix the problem. The area behind my apartment was pretty much just overgrown weeds...
I lived on the lower end of the complex (which I learned is the louder end), and my neighbors didn't work. There must have been 5 people living there and while they never were too noisy, it was difficult to feel any privacy with people coming and going next door all the time.
Lots of kids wandering around too, and police showing up from time to time. I would have been uncomfortable parking a nice car in the parking lot.
They did allow me to have a satellite dish and I was in DSL range as well which was important to me.
The staff were always very helpful, and weren't ---- about a mix-up with my rent one month.
Overall, I probably wouldn't want to live here again if it could be helped, but it wasn't too bad of an experience in the 7 months I was there.
I left for a job in Phoenix...
