Great place, but expensive

We recently moved out of Lakeview Village, not because we had any particular problem with the community, but because we found a bigger apartment in a nicer part of town for $200 a month less. You figure that one out.

The complex itself is pretty nice. Parking is a pain in the nuts, as others have said, but aside from the crazy old lady who went off on my wife for letting our dog urinate on "her" grass (and whose son was later arrested after getting into a fight in the parking lot, which led to the police finding narcotics in their apartment), the neighbors were actually an ok bunch. Maintenance staff are quick to respond to requests for service, and the front office staff was friendly and helpful whenever we needed them.

But then, you hit the cost issue. We moved in there initially despite the higher rent because (1.) I thought my job would end up paying a lot more than it has so far, and (2.) we were sick of living in the ghetto. We were prepared to move back into the ghetto to save money, figuring we'd never find anything even close in price to Lakeview Village in a decent part of town. Then, what's this' A complex in Rancho San Diego that costs $200 a month less, has the same amenities, and virtually identical apartment sizes' Needless to say, we jumped.

Bottom line, Lakeview Village is a very good place to call home. As some have said, the most recent batch of tenants moving in there was kind of rough around the edges, but most of our neighbors were quiet and private. The 800-lb. gorilla on the place's back is the cost factor--simply put, if you're going to spend $1500 a month on your apartment, you can do better. uWDgQKY3Vkv8FKIsB8Ax
