The carpet is worn ragged and very spotted with whatever fluids. The kitchen cabinet and tiles are notched and rutted. Management is slow in getting repairs done. I showered in ice water for over a week during the winter. Once a maintenance guy lfted 75 cents in change left on the kitchen counter after changing a bulb. There is no place to relax by the pool because management took out the lounge chairs except by the office's 'show' pool. A few months ago gun shots were fired in the parking lot leaving a visitor seriously wounded. The gates often do not work and remain open throught the day and night. Despite earlier assurances, we've all gotten served with water and utility bills which aren't metered. That's right, you pay for everyone else, the sprinklers, the laundry, the pool, etc... Staff, either stupid or practiced carnival barkers, are rude if a routine issue is ever brought up.

Sounds like you got just the type of apartment you qualified for. You actually showered in ice water for over a week? WHY??? I think that makes you not very smart:) Did you read the paper on that shooting? You should before you misinform people. What is practicing carnival barking, harsh, They turned you down didn't they?
