I wish I would have done a drive through at night before signing a lease here. I would have picked a different apartment or maybe a completely different apartment complex altogether. Drive around the complex at night at least three times before moving in. I didn't do that, and now I am stuck listening to loud, ghetto, rude and disrespectful neighbors every night when I get home from work and need to relax. It stinks!
There are some nice things about MVW. There is tons of parking, though 99% of the parking is out in the open and the trees drip sap all over your car and it is a pain to wash off.
There are tons of laundry rooms, so if one is full you just walk a short distance to another. They are dirty most of the time though, and half of the machines are out of order.
The security here is a joke. I called for a noise problem. There were some teenagers being really loud and really really obscene right outside my bedroom window, and when I called for security to ask them to leave, I was told to call the police! MVW should save their money and fire their security guard.
My apartment isn't as bad as those mentioned here.I actually really like most things about my apartment. I haven't had problems like I read from others here, like nasty carpet or roaches, but this winter my ceiling has leaked and the windows don't close all the way, so it's pretty cold in here, and the wall heater only warms the two feet around it. I am tempted to sleep on the floor in front of the heater on really cold nights.
Everything was really clean and well kept up when I moved in, accept for the windows, which were really dirty on the outside and still haven't been cleaned in the year I've lived here. gross!
When MVW advertises that they fix problems in 24hours, they are full of it. I have had a couple things go wrong, and I have to ask two or three times before they come out. And then When they do come, they come in your apartment w/out permission. This is the truth! I have the notice to prove it. On the notice where it asks who gave permission to enter, the area is left blank.
Isn't that illegal'
MVW isn't totally horrible, and I say that because there are a lot worse places to live in Stockton, but when you are checking out this place, they make it seem great and they are not being completely honest.
IT IS VERY OBVIOUS THAT THE TWO COMMENTS WRITTEN IN 8/2005 ON THE SAME DATE WERE SUBMITTED BY STAFF MEMBERS. That's pretty sad. The staff here aren't as great as they make themselves out to be.
I'm not impressed by Marina Village West, and I am currently looking for other places to live. I can't wait to get out of here.
Be AWARE of what you are getting yourself into by signing a lease here! And DON"T trust thier cable guy!! Major rip off!
