I would like to first say that I feel that the management of this complex is wonderful to not only their residents, but it also seems to their workers. Any repair requests I have ever had were, no joke, taken care of within an hour. Speaking of repairs, I've rarely had a problem with anything inside of the unit (e.g. no pests, lights work fine, so on). Even better, the complex owner even went out of their way to replace some of the light fixtures and AC controls with newer models that work better and are energy efficent.

The grounds themselves are fairly well kept, and I can't say that the complex is an eyesore. The place is clean, and the maangement is thoughtful in not having the grounds-keepers come out early in the day, but rather around the afternoon hours.

So far, for what you are paying here, you are really getting more than your moneys worth.

What makes me want to move from this complex are about three different problems.

First, despite there being a gate around the complex, people still just walk in, or even worse, idle their car outside while waiting for someone with a card key to let them in. Other jerks will block someone with a key to get in by parking their car in front of the gate while dialing into the complex. There are TONS of people who shouldn't be living here at all, but management doesn't seem to care about that. The apartment below me seems to house anywhere from 6 to 10 people, and it's only a 2 bedroom apartment! Because just about anyone can walk into the complex, it's not uncommon to see people shifting through your trash on a daily basis.

Also, this place is loud. My neighbors blast music for a few hours every day, a car alarm goes off once an hour every hour, the trash gets picked up early in the morning and will wake you up, children are running around everywhere without their parents watching them (bouncing their ball off your car too), and, best of all, there are people who insist that you have to listen to their music, despite living two buildings away.

The kicker though is the street outside of the apartment. The people living on this street stand around and block traffic chatting away at their friends DRIVING by or playing a game of football. Also, monthly, you'll see around 3 to 18 occurances of police officers arresting someone - it peaks in Summer. I've actually seen someone being carted off in a body-bag once when coming home from work. It's gotten so bad that Pizza Hut, Domino's, and nearly any other delivery place refuses to service this area after dark. A Megans Law report shows about 15 sex offenders in about a mile radius, 2 of them in the apartment complex itself, and 4 on the two nearby streets.

If the security guards tightened up a little about who can and cannot get through the gates, and if this entire apartment complex was located somewhere else, it'd be perfect. I haven't had a break in, but a couple of other apartments downstairs have. I just don't feel safe around here, and I want to get the hell out. If the crime level doesn't bother you, then this is a great place to live.
