We lived in this complex for about 9 months. This was our second apartment ever and a small step up from our first super ghetto apartment. This is a very "scary" neighborhood and I never left our apartment anywhere close to dark. Our daughter was 2 at the time and we spent most of our summer in the pool which was well maintained and not over crowded. The neighbors were a bit grungy. However, though a bit gangster, I felt like the neighbors would help if there was anything scary going on.
Our main problem was noise. Our upstairs neighbors had a at least 4 kids and they were very loud bouncing balls etc. in their kitchen. Our neighbors BLASTED their music constantly. In fact one evening it was so loud that hubby used to sing along and would get frustrated when they would skip past a song he liked! haha We'd sing along in the kitchen. Not so bad when it is 11am on a Saturday and the music is clean, but Gangster rap at 8:30pm when you are putting the baby down to sleep is not the best.
Inside we had a mild roach problem which never went away 100% in the 9 months we lived there. Mild meaning we'd see a roach at least once a month. The parking was adiquate, but scary at night. The community is gated, but gates don't help much when the gangsters are on your side of the gate! haha. When I look back I think "how dangerous" but in all honesty I never felt unsafe once the door was locked at night. They had security screans, deadbolt, and an extra flip lock in our apartment.
Stockton is just a dangerous town, so relativly speaking for the price it wasn't as bad as it could have been. One bonus to this plalce was storage. The storage shed was huge. In ours we held a futon frame 2 bikes and a bunch of 30 gallon rubbermaid tubs. This place had a big walk in closet, a hallways closet, a huge hallway pantry, and alinnen closet. It also had the biggest bathroom we've seen in any of our apartments.
