Security Issue, do not rent here.

My car window was broken in to this past weekend along with NINE other tenants. My neighbor had his apartment vandalized and everything was taken from them. All this happened in a matter of 5days. Security is a joke here as the gates are open all day long, if one of the gate is working the other is not, so there's always an open gate for thugs to come in. Security issues along with the unsatisfactory level of customer service at the front office makes this place a joke. If you've seen "Valley Girls" that's exactly what property managers Rennee and Linnette represent. They acted as they do not care about our situation and oblivious to the fact that this place is not secure. Do your self a favor, for the amount you will be paying go somewhere else. I along with all those in our corner of the complex will be out of here upon lease ending!

I was the person who got robbed. My wife and two boys of five and two years old had all our personal belongings stolen from us. My youngest is tramatized from this situation, he continually tells me that he's afraid of bad guys. My five year old had all his video games stolen that he worked so hard for. I did not have too much to gripe about till now and the situation that my family had to endure. I was expecting some sympathy from the front office, but Linnette who handled my case went on a week long vacation after my incident and left me hanging without telling anyone else in the office. She gave me a 1-800 number to contact upper managment. Needless to say, my family did not feel safe or welcomed here and that's why we left. I must say the gentlemen from upper managment who handled my case and made the decission to let me out of my lease was very nice, but that's also another matter, as I'm writing Equity Managment a letter to make them aware of the attitude of the local managment crew. As Linnette from the front office states the robbery was not Waterfields problem and thats why we have insurance. True, it's not their problem, but if you were a human being after someone experiences this type of loss you do not say something like that to them. I'd say that the friendliness and compassion of the staff could offset the security issues, but that's not the case. Honestly I can not say I would recommend this complex to anyone. My 2cents.

It's horrible to be robbed, the sense of personal violation is traumatizing and I sympathize because I've lived in several rentals in different cities that have been broken into. I moved each time it happened because I was freaked out. However, I must say that this complex has made attempts to make the place safer going forward. The locks on all the gates and common areas have been changed, the gate remote control codes changed, and the gates are now kept closed 24/7. I've lived here more than a year and will continue living here because I've enjoyed the quietness, the responsiveness of maintenance, and the friendliness of office staff. I highly recommend this apartment complex.

It's nice to hear that they are finally keeping the gates closed 24/7. In 2 years of living there that was one of my pet peeves with the apartment complex. Places that were not as nice and less expensive kept their gates closed all day but Waterfield did not. I find the comment interesting that they changed the locks and code. If that's something that was done in 2008 that would be the second time they've had to do that in a year. Both, of those things were done just prior to my moving out.

The gates are not how the people got in when we were robbed. We were at the back by the cesspool and the people used the walkway along there and just hopped the fence out where Hammer lane dead ends. No one lives back there so they had a nice get away. Don't fool yourselves into thinking that a gate will keep anyone out.
Oh and the police think it was maintenance that robbed us or someone who knew someone in maintenance that told them what was in our apartment.
