Just wanted to echo many of the complaints on this board. I have lived her for a couple of years and find that no matter where you live in this community, YOU WILL HAVE PROBLEMS.
I will list everything that is a problem and which the Management does not care about.
1. Loud noisy neighbors.
2. Loud drinking and drug parties.
3 Mob scene at the BBQ's with a scary crowd.
4. Run down fitness room in the Colony.
5. Dirty hallways.
6. Irresponsible management staff.
7. Overpriced run down apartments. They are not worth it!!!
8. Non existant security and unlocked gates.
9 Car thefts.
10. Apartment break-ins.
11. Prostitutes/Escorts everywhere.
12. Walls are paper thin.
13. Lots of bugs and big spiders in the apartments.
14. Rec room is always closed when you want to use it.
I am going to move out when my lease is up an duy something. All of this rent for insanity is not worth it. You have been warned.

Hello,
I was wondering since this place is bad, and its one of the nicer apartments i've seen in the valley, are there any recommendations? I need to move near Van Nuys soon. I though studio city and sherman oaks where the nicer areas, from what I saw. Please advise! :) thanks! :) P.s. I am 20something, but not trashy! :)

I would move into the place if you are looking for a simple pad and are not home much. If you are looking for a serene comfortable place to come home to...this place is not it. It is loud noisy and very busy. It was fun when I was in my twenties, but I am starting to want a more tranquil environment. Just beware of some of the bratty twentysomethings from rich families... alot of them have no respect for the community or the buildings. It is terrible.
There are lots of buildings in the valley. Try to live close to Ventura Blvd. Studio City is da bomb! I love Studio City. Also it is very convenient. Why not look into the L'Stancia across the street from the Archstone? It is really a wonderful property. Good luck!

You are absolutely correct. I have lived in Archstone for two years. Management is not sensitive to the parties, loud noise and crime. There has been criminal activity in the building & the so called security is virtually non-existent. They continue to increase the rent and the amenities are not kept up to standards. The equipment in the exercise room is not maintained & doors are constantly access doors are constantly open because the locking mechanism does not work. I personally am going to look move when my lease expires.
