I am shocked to find this website. I never knew it existed. I have just moved out of Archstone Studio City. When I moved in, it was called Archstone Studio Colony...that is how long I have lived here. They have made some improvements, but mostly things are just slap jobs. The place has very very thin walls and the common areas are very dirty and often in need of repair. I moved in when ---------- was the manager and she was incredible. We had Sunday Brunch and parties all of the time. People were so nice here back then too. I always looked forward to the Christmas Party. It was such a nice community.
I eventually got so fed up with the building when Archstone removed ---------- and turned the property into nothing but a death trap for low lives. While here I have seen several suicide clean-ups and murder squads. Parties and drugging go on all weekend and is unbearable. If you call the cops they refuse to come and the building security will not do anything to stop the parties. My car was even vandalized twice. Archstone likes when people move out because they continue to raise the price and overcharge all of the dope dealers, prostitutes, rich trust fund brats and studio wannabees.
One night a guy was stabbed across the hall and I heard him screaming and his girlfriend screaming at the guy who did it. It was awful. The next day I saw blood trails all the way around the floor to the elevator and it was nasty. I told building about it, but they never cleaned it up. It stained the carpet for months. I eventually called corporate and they did come to clean the carpet eventually. It was gross!
I know that this is long, but I must go on. I eventually moved into the newer building called the Gallery. I saw them demolish the previous building and erect this place and it is a stunning property. I thought I was going to have peace and serenity when I moved into the new apartment. It was worse than the Studio Colony! Dog poop and pee in the elevators, garbarge and urine in the water fountains, garbage and dirt everywhere in the hallways. They told me they cleaned everday...huh! What a lie!!! No service whatsoever. I had to constantly call to get it cleaned. I lived right across from a prostitution ring with about 5 girls and a Madame. I am not lying....it was awful. The madame was nice, but she was scary. One night she lined guys up in the hallway and had them wait their turn whiie her girls worked them over! I kid you not! I reported it and Archstone did nothing. People often parked in my spot and no one cared. There are drug dealers that hang out on Bluffside across the street selling crystal meth and other drugs too. Cops are always making busts and helicopters are contantly searching for criminals here. They once arrested a peeping tom who was outside my neighbors windows. It was unreal. It looks so nice here, but it is truly a nightmare now. The rich bratty kids that live here have no respect for others or the property and Archstone allows it. Too many awful stories to discuss here.
There was a rape in the parking garage not that long ago... it is very dangerous here...and single girls should beware. I once was on an elevator and an rapper type thug was smoking and knocked me against the wall for no reason. I was scared I was going to be killed. He just laughed.
Please read the comments here in this forum. These are not lies...real truths. BEWARE of ARCHSTONE. You will be sorry if you move here. They will rent to anyone and they do not care about your safety or happiness.
I am all moved into a new place now and it feels good. I have a nicer quieter place and pay less than I did at Archstone. I will always miss my early days at Studio Colony with ----------. She was a Godsend and the property still had that Hollywood cache. Now it is a den for crime and punishment.

I made the same mistake, thought things would improve moving from the Colony to the Gallery. I just wasted more money to put up with the same problems.
