UPDATE: To those saying that Archstone has no sex offenders living here they obviously have been made aware of the negative reviews and have taken care of it. THE POINT IS...yes there was a sex offender living here. I have a screenshot from the watchdog website..he was living in the Gallery..unfortunately this site will not add the image..If archstone did background checks then there would have never been this situation to begin with. This place can post as many fake reviews as they want but how can they stop a person from coming here and talking to ANY OF THE RESIDENTS..people move out of this dump in droves..DROVES..moving trucks are on this block all day. There are hookers outside at night..drug deals all the time. I mean get real..look at the pictures some people uploaded..yes this is LA but that does not mean that drugs and crime are ok in this "luxury complex"..the rent here is one of the highest in studio city. You would think this would be a safe place for the price but its not. IT IS A GHETTO.. Archstone knows how bad it is..they have even extended office hours..The scary thing is this is not just complaints about loud music or dirt..we are talking heavy duty crimes.. someone was stabbed outside where 24 hr security is suppose to be patrolling.. there are drugs non stop here. There was a girl who had an overdose and died..there is all sorts of "gang" activity..guns and screams..its terrible.
What kind of place is Archstone studio city you ask' Well the kind that lets a registered sex offender move into a building that has plenty of children running around. What was his conviction..lewd acts on children under 14 of course..
THERE ARE NO BACKGROUND CHECKS HERE. The staff has no idea. They do not even care.
I was urged to write on here because of the experience I had with my children. The sex offender who's picture I have attached had nothing better to do then stare at my kids. I never understood why this stranger was doing this..well it all came together when they were arrested for peeping..THIS PLACE IS DISGUSTING.
I love how the recently posted "Archstone is great" reviews just started showing up.. maybe because this building has really turned into the ghetto. It is unreal how these post talk about the posters on here being bitter and that even in Beverly Hills there are problems..
Noise is one thing but sex offenders moving into the building is Archstone's responsibility. They just don't care who they let in..even the gang activity here is outrageous.
The streets were closed off one day because someone was running around with a GUN.
You see the pool and the grounds and think..oh how nice and clean..YEA RIGHT.
Can't wait to get out of here!
EDIT: Confirmed with security that sex offender lives here..I do not know why my picture is not showing up yet but just go to the watch dog website or google sex offender map and you will see for yourself..DO NOT STAY HERE.

I live here and yes they do run criminal background checks. i also asked the security about this and the office and it was not a resident but a person who used the address if you look at the website he is in VIOLATION meaning he was or is not at that address!! why dont you leave.. at least these people do run criminal checks good luck at your new place

They do not run criminal checks or, if they do, they ignore the results. My former "neighbor" was a pimp running his busines out of the apartment. Constant noise, making rap albums, then making threats for complaining about the noise. In the end, the managers finally threw them out, but only because it turned out they hadn't been paying the rent an had rented the apartment under an alias. I have to agree, this property has become a mismanaged ghetto. Do yourself a favor and rent somewhere else. I'm counting the days until I can get out.

It is quit clear you had a bad expericene living at archstone, but don't you have something better to do with your life than to try and discredit a community of more than 800 apartments. When I moved in they did a complete background check. Most if any of the problems at archstone are caused by people like yourself who have nothing better to do than cry about how there life sucks. Do your reach of apartment living, if you want move into a box in the middle of know where stop trying to mess it up for people looking for a great place to live. Oh, case you didn't know people in BEL AIR get home invasion in their private million dollar homes. Its Los Angeles most of you people are crazy and have nothing going on so you cause trouble either with words or with actions. Move on and find some where you like and keep it move in. Peace!!!!

HAHA! I'll admit, living at Archstone sucks a fat one. It's like an overgrown fraternity with hopefuls and does resemble a frat house on crack, but I don't think you serve any purpose other than looking like a goofy hick who perpetuates fear by assuming that someone perving on you in the parking garage means they want to "gang rape" you. I think the problems with Archstone are not the fault of the residents. (Although a great deal of them are paying their jacked up rent by taking it up the ass in porn that is likely being filmed in one of the larger units where the rent only makes sense if it's budgeted into your location, but what do you expect when you live accross the street from Vivid. Porn stars don't want to commute, jeez.) Anyway... just because there are guys living here with the mental/social aptitude equivalent to a brick and lack the fundamental skills necessary to know how creepy it is to perv on a girl in a parking garage, you only take away from your credibility when you claim to know that they have intent to "gang rape" you. Besides... if anyone touches you in the parking garage or anywhere at 2 a.m. in Archstone Studio City, just scream really loud. I'm sure at any given moment there will be plenty of crackheads, high end prostitutes and nosy insomniacs around who will hear you screaming and in the spirit of decent neighborly conduct call 911... (even if it's purely for selfish reasons and nothing more than an attempt to entertain themselves as the drama unfolds because their Tivo has run out of good stuff on the "now playing list") Plus, since you live at Archstone Studio City, you always have the added amenity/bonus of knowing that there will probably already be a chopper close by so the suspect who attacked you shouldn't get far. easygo77 you are clearly niave to what is happening around you. You are so wrong. All the complaints on here are legitimate. Open up your eyes and look around, start talkinh to residents. Then you will learn the truth about this place it is far from a dreamworld more like a nightmare!!!!!
