I'm not sure what a lot of people are talking about with regards to noise. Unless you have a really strong hearing aid in your ear or are pathologically sensitive to sound or something, the noise is really not a problem here. The location is EXCELLENT, you're within reach of the valley, the 101, the 405, and Hollywood, easy. Plus, you're right in the heart of Studio City which has a bunch of shops and restaurants on its own. I haven't really had any problems with the management. Also, the in-unit washer/dryer and air conditioning is absolutely awesome. My only negatives would be that it's a little pricey, which is to be expected of an LA apartment, and that it's kind of a bland building. It's really, really safe though. They have security working for the building. All in all, I'm happy with the experience I've had at Catalina.

Noise? Building's advertised as being in a "quiet area." Not so. Between a grade school and a post office. Only if your apt faces the courtyard or is at the rear is it quiet. Then it's real quiet. Else it can be noisy. If you're from Ohio you can't handle it. If you're from NYC, the traffic/people noise will make you homesick! It's all relative. Safe: If you're a male, it's safe. If you're a single female, there's been some issues in the past. As for any female anywhere, keep your eyes open. Yes, this bldg is in the middle of S.C. which is quite nice to live in. Would be the same as if this bldg was on Wilshire & Fairfax. Jennifer, in the bldg's office, is terrific. With a post office & UPS Mail Center right next door, and a terrific newsstand across Laurel, etc. the location is hard to beat. When I moved out I gave it pretty high ratings. I'd move back again when I return to S.C./LA. Remember, this is a PET building and the cleaning and maint that goes with that. Costs a little more. Try and find a good Pet building in a good area nowadays. However, this "review" seems to have come from an employee of, not a tenant in Catalina. Oh, well......

I actually really am a tenant in Catalina! I've been here about a year now, and I really do mean everything that I said. I should mention though that a woman just got her car stolen from one of the garages in my building a few days ago, and she's been making some noise about it, which is good. I didn't know we had some problems with security in this building, but if we do, they should be fixed.
