A decent place to live. I've lived in this complex for almost six years and have had three different units; one 1-bdrm. & two different 2-bdrm. units. I have to say that when I first arrived in 1997 they had all the stops pulled; a 5-day a week conceirge, a porter(to help carry & deliver packages), an in-house maintenence supervisor that lived on premises and a full maintenence staff of about 10. They even had a rented limousine parked in the front to attract high-end clientele. This was all still going on two years after they had opened their doors in '95. Now, however, the place isn't quite the same...No porter or conceirge, one security guard on duty instead of the overlaping shifts of two at a time, maintenence staff of about 4(incl. supervisor) who no longer resides on premises, so many leasing consultants have come & gone that you don't even bother to learn their names(nor they yours!), no tea & lemonade service by the pool during summers/weekends, no weekly breakfast buffets in the recreation center, no package delivery(even for large or heavy parcels...they won't even help you lift them), unkept/overgrown landscaping, lots of peeling/chipping paint on the exterior(looks bad), broken lights and jets in the jacuzzi/spa area for over two years(it's hit or miss, sometimes they work-sometimes they don't), they don't even have a dvd player in the gym for your exercise videos(there is a vcr & tv, stereo etc...), and the carpet(well let's just say that it's absoluteley horrible grade/it's thin and cheap and has a chemical smell to it & i've been here a while...it still smells.), cheap white run of the mill verticle blinds highlight the windows(that they don't clean on the outside, that's your job). There's even more but you get the idea. All of this under the same management for all of these years. The owners of the property are also the preferred management co. No outside opinions here. It is a beautiful building and the interior amenities balance out the extremeley loud/noisy & not so thorough gardeners that are always on different days.
All of this plus rent increases of $75-$100 per month that occur annually. I have to say that the building is beautiful to look at, not very old, the units have neat layouts & the wood-burning fireplaces are really a special treat, it's in a great location and it is much nicer than almost all places you would go to rent. I think that the owners/management should respect what they built and their tenants and put a little back into it and them. It needs to be a little more maintained, cleaner and safer. (i've had a car broken into here)
