I've lived at Alexan for 10 months now with mixed feelings about the place. The place is new I was the first renter, but there's a few things that are annoying and could be a showstopper for you. First of all Caltrain goes right by the apartment complex. My apartment shakes every time it goes by. Sometimes the noise is very loud. The water pressure is very weak so if you have a lot of hair prepare to take a long shower. The grounds are clean, but I use the stairwell and the staff rarely cleans it. Gum and other things have piled up with no weekly or monthly cleaning. Lastly, a lot of people at Alexan smoke, which prevents me being able to open my doors and windows, plus the exhaust from the train comes in. The cost is very high relative to surrounding options. I would consider all these issues and address them with the staff before you consider Alexan.
