ALL RECENT POST R TRUE, HERE'S MY LONG LIST

I figured other recent bad reviews were enough to warn you. But, lately, all the bad stuff that's been happening with the apartment has begun to add up and get to me. So, I would like to list them here - as my way of venting. I should be venting with the management, but my interaction with them have been poor.

First of all, I was once late in my rent by 4 days, e.g. July 3rd. They sent me a letter threatening to evict me if I don't pay within 3 days. I have lived in many many apartments last 10 years, and I have never received a threatening letter for 4-day late rent. In other places, I was fined $20 - $40 for the normal 5 day grace period (and begrudgingly blamed only myself), but I have never seen such a rude and incourteous threat from apt management.

On top of this, the management staff are not very nice. Sometimes, I went to the office to ask for something, and I had to wait because they ignored me for some time. They don't even greet you. And, the maintenance guy appears to be a flat out jerk. Instead of trying to understand and fix the problem, he does somethings and, if doesn't work, he likes to say he's done his best - while giving you lame excuses and lies to say it's either working great (it;s not) or they've done all they could. Meanwhile, the problem goes on and on.

And, then, they raised the rent significantly. They justify it by the fact that they are renovating and giving us a nice new clubhouse (ha ha.. more on this later). The rent was reasonable before. But, they don't understand that a block away in each direction are semi-ghetto neighborhoods and that to raise the rents to close to luxury apartment level is expecting too much. It would work if it was an apartment away from a lot of foot traffic, like the Grove down the street, but it isn't. At this rate, I would move to west of El Camino in Sunnyvale. Sunnyvale, west of el camino, is better.

Also, the mgmt made the apartment lose all its privacy and charm by chopping off half the trees, then painting the clubhouse with a distinctly different color. They also moved the office to second clubhouse where the billards used to be. Then they put a big ugly canopy(') to show that it's the Office. Then, they put all these signs around to tell you the direction to the office. But, someone has to be an idiot to not find the office in a small, square apartment complex like this! We moved here because of the charm. I used to call this aparment the 'Secret Garden'. Now, it's getting really ugly.

Privacy: they chopped the trees and cleared the brushes that blocked the views for the 1st floor aparments. My neighbor for 2 years is moving because someone from nearby bad neighborhoods could walk up now and stare right into the windows.

I was ok with previous mgmt. Ann was a little weird, but she followed up and really cared about the apartment. But, this management is not friendly at all.

They raised the rent, and they trued to justify it on the renovation, new clubhouse and free internet connection at the clubhouse. Firstly, the so-called renovation was chopping down trees and plants, and this made the place uglier. Secondly, the place was not falling apart. So what renovation' Renovate to raise the rent' Secondly, the clubhouse was hardly ever used before. They renovated it and made it look nice, so that they could take a photo and include it in the ads. My guess is that's all. Finally, the internet connection at the clubhouse: You got to be kidding. Who would use internet connection at the clubhouse'!' Anybody who lives should be able to afford Internet, or they really don't care to use it anyway.

The new mgmt is really trying to fit the place into a luxury apartment spec when it is too small, in bad neighborhood, etc. I have no problem with big business coming to change things around. But, this apartment mgmt or direction is all wrong. And, frankly, I am planning on moving when I have time to look.
