I've been reading the reviews. I can't speak to things like "rats on the first floor" since I live on the second floor. I've never seen any, even by the creek where I live.

Regarding noise, I never hear freeway noise, but then I live by the creek, far from the freeway. As for thin walls, I've lived in apartments for 40 years and I've never lived in one where the walls were thick enough. I've generally found that the noise issue depends on your neighbors. For most of the 10 uears I've lived here, my neighbors (particularly my current neighbors) have been quiet. Living by the creek, there's creek noises, but that's kind of nice. Sitting outside on a summer night, it's a calming environment.

The staff's been courteous to me, but then I try to be courteous to them. Things get fixed on time.

As for rent, I'll keep my current rent to myself. When I moved in here, rents for a comparable place, near El Camino Real, were going for around $2200 a month --and talk about noise! My initial rent was well below that. During the first Bush recession around 2002, they even lowered the rents for a while. In 40 years, I NEVER saw anybody reduce prices for anything.

I love living here.
