I usually do not write review but under present economy- I had my entire deposit stolen!!

I was out of state and put down holding deposit 100$ and 30$ for application fee 300 security deposit. When I came to rent after 1 week in Ca- They had me sign the lease without ever seeing the ready apt. In evening when we went in- there was a big black spider and the window blinds were dirty and all appliance almost antique including the filthy A/c window unit!.

Next day I waited the office to open and Gave them the keys back saying - I just cannot rent here, this is not I expected- they kept the whole 430$..... did not even give back 300$!! I mean Within 24 hours of taking keys-- they just kept the money.

I would say stay away from such lousy apartment people.

you should write to the corporate office. you should be able to get your $300 deposit back. they will mail it to your current address after re-inspection--should take a couple of weeks? if not, you should report them to the housing office or take them to small claims court.

Thanks for advising. I did as you suggested. They returned my deposit. Not only that, I learned a lot - and I would advise all renters not be scared of their landlords and never give in to them. Don't leave your hard earned money, even single penny, with them. Housing office and small claims court is simple documenting and filing process, so all you renters don't let landlords cheat you.
