It was the best of times & it was the worst of times.

Years at this apartment: 1993 - 2004
Tenent for some 17 years, 1987-2004
Late 1980's, a true professionals community, great people, fair rents, clean common areas, and management while somewhat tight always present and accommodating.
Maintenance Mgr. Kim takes a lot of undeserved heat in these reviews, while he is a bit of a fun loving klepto, he?s a straight up capable player whom only acts stupid to those that clearly deserve it. Always accommodated our every need. Thanks, Kim!
By the mid 1990?s things were beginning to change, while rent was still fair, economic fluctuations and poor choice management changes brought about a rapid change in the people living there and the overall general living conditions worsened.
The late 1990s things went from bad to worse, crime, break-ins, homeless heroin addicts living and dwelling adjacent to the property, roaming the grounds brawling nightly. While conditions were becoming
un- tolerable, the rents began to skyrocket, many of the original tenents gave up at that point, and who could blame them for in only a few year period I had my rent almost DOUBLED. Reason enough to bring Rent controls to Sunnyvale; don?t waste your time, its never going to happen.
If it weren?t for a few remaining friends and the very fortunate draw of a really great neighbor, I too wood have fled! There were still many trying times ahead, living in Bangladesh-like conditions with clouds of curry permeating the air awaking you to near death gagging in the middle of the night,to the ever present herds of pregnant women roaming about in their pajamas,to the apparently motherless diaper clad babies playing in puddles between parked cars while their taxi driving brethren flew through the complex always somehow avoiding slaughtering the little innocents, and a seeming endless parade of wide eyed husbands attempting to teach their wives, whom had never even seen a wheel, how to drive or smash into everything insight, including on several occasions one of my parked vehicles.
2000 ? 2004 brought little change, new bldg.paint on the outside, while done with good intentions it made the complex look just like the projects, the rent cycle started coming back down to where they were many years before & it just made me wonder why in the hell did they ever climb so high.
Overall, I enjoyed my years in that old thin walled, but conveniently situated, nearly safe & pleasant complex, & I shall always remember the best of times...& My wife and I will miss our old friends, Jim, Nelson & Simmona, Carol & Larry(rip), Harold, the eccentric unnamed lawyer & Nu,our new Indian friends Roger & his dear parents, Jay'ernt,& many more, Ron, Rich, Gary, Chuck you crazy bastard & through it all Mr. Kim.
