The management was unresponsive to maintenance requests. The grounds were well kept, but the apartments themselves were cheaply constructed and poorly maintained.

They lowered their rental rate during the time we lived there -- for new tenants, that is. They refused to renew our monthly rent at the current market value. That was the final straw.

Or maybe this was: they'll steal your entire deposit without reasonable cause.
