We moved in here as a newly wed couple about a year and a half ago, and we have a lot to say about this property! Pros 1. If you are an Asian (Indian, Chinese, Japanese etc), you will find a lot of Asian restaurants, groceries nearby. 2. Walking distance to schools, bus stops, shopping centers. 3. A safe location to live in. Cons 1. The apartment we moved in is a 2 bed/ 2 bath. We live on the 3rd floor, so we don't hear a lot of footsteps from above. However people who live here are very noisy. It's understandable if the kids are noisy, but even adults are constantly bickering or laughing loud in the hallways. 2. The hallways do not have good ventilation. If you have allergies, please don't move in here. I got allergies after moving in. I constantly keep coughing every night nowadays. 3. Roach infestation, don't even ask how many were there during summer. We had to finally get our own roach killer to get rid of them. But few still exist. 4. The apartments are very old, so they seem to have public ventilation, which means you can smell other people's bathroom in your bathroom. Our bathroom always had a very bad stinking smell, no matter what perfume we put in there, whenever we turned on the ventilation for more than 10 minutes, it was unbearable. 5. Since the ventilation is not good, you will smell other people's cooking day and night, if you live at home everyday i.e. And it's extremely strong because hallways have no ventilation. 6. Very expensive for the condition of the apts. There are newer ones in Sunnyvale for lower price. I would definitely not recommend Fair Oaks West to anyone who is planning on moving to a beautiful cozy apartment.
