Maintenance is abysmal; poor price/performance

This was a reasonably good value when I first moved in, but they kept jacking up the rent even while the housing market was slowing down, to the point where I now pay more than at some "luxury" apartments.
Maintenance is extremely poor. Stuff takes forever to get fixed. They fixed the upstairs plumbing, leaving a huge hole in my bathroom ceiling that they then "fixed" by nailing a piece of plywood over it. My water heater leaks. Heating is a futile exercise as the lack of any insulation causes the place to lose any heat instantly. Anyway the heater gives off a musty smell so I'm afraid to turn it on anyway for fear of choking my lungs with mold spores or worse.
Laundry room was the nastiest until they finally renovated it last month. I had a number of shirts ruined by rust stains until I stopped doing my laundry there. Pool is dirty, unheated and otherwise unusable.
Sound insulation is poor. I put up with my upstairs neighbor's partying, lovemaking and other activities only so that they'll grant me the same tolerance.
Guest parking is non-existent. The management act like a bunch of parking fascists, nevertheless I see all kinds of questionable cars parked in supposedly reserved spots.
Run, don't walk... away!
