Since the law is Steve needs to send repair details within 21 days after move out of a tenant; he sends us a backdated letter after wards claiming very high repair cost.We have filed small claim court case (at Palo Alto) for deposit refund after moving out .

Your links do not work. Anyway, we have the same problem. We've been moved out since July 15 and have only just now (October 31) received a portion of our deposit. The owner has broken his legal obligation to refund us our deposit in a timely manner and has not provided us with any receipts as to the "estimated repair costs". We filed a small claim against Pav-Jam, LLC, the corporation that owns Remington Grove Apartments. Steve Pavlina is the listed agent for service of process. Our small claims trial is set to take place on the morning of November 9, 2009 in Palo Alto. May I ask, when is your trial scheduled to occur? they did not refund anything from my $1000 security deposit after I left there for 6 months and they told me that the cost for the repair is more than the security deposit amount and they will send me bills for the extra charge... Please email me at against.remingtongroveapp@gmail.com if you have decided to hire a lawer to sue them
