It's been over three months since we moved out and we still have not seen a cent of our security deposit refund. We did all we could to get answers from Remington's office, but we received nothing from our attempts except ambiguous responses and lies. As a result, we filed a small claim against Pav-Jam, LLC which is the limited liability corporation that owns Remington Grove Apartments and successfully served the owner, Steve Pavlina, who is listed as the Agent for Service of Process according to the California Secretary of State Business Portal website.

The date, time and location of the small claim trial is as follows: November 11, 2009 at 8:30AM at Palo Alto Superior Court - Small Claims Division, Department 86.

Are you crazy to award this dirt hole 2 stars! He is a low life that is using the system to illegally gouge and harass. If you get a lawyer, let ppl here know, there are many to stand up against him.

I totally agree with this comment. Management is the worst. Apartment owner is a jerk, crazy person or whatever bad name you can use for him, that fits.

I am prepared to sue for my full deposit, court fees and punitive damages. After nearly two months of not hearing back from the owner and being given the run around by his staff, I mailed a demand letter threatening legal action if my security deposit wasn't refunded within 10 days of my letter. The following week I received the Itemized Disposition of Security Deposit stating that an estimated half of my total deposit will be deducted for repairs. I just sent a second demand letter requesting the refund of my deposit in full within 10 days. If I don't get it, I'm prepared to take the owner to court. I will post the court date so that any of you who wish to attend, will be able to. This guy is a crook and needs to get what he deserves for taking advantage of people like this.

Same story. Since the law is Steve needs to send repair details within 21 days after move out of a tenant; he sends us a backdated letter after wards claiming repair cost of $4000.We have filed small claim court case (at Palo Alto) for deposit refund after moving out . Pls email me at seven7sir@yahoo.com . Same story ,dont repair the 40 year old apartment and then recover money from tenants, after they move out.
