Clear Cheating to current residents

Just wanted to tell people about my story with Shadowbrook. Its upto you to decide about who is wrong and how good the management is.
We moved into Shadowbrook with 6 months lease and rent of $1095 for one bedroom. This is an average rent in bay area. Everything was fine until my lease ended. Next day after my lease expired, I got a letter from mgmt that our rent is being increased to $1510 per month and if I wish to retain the same rent ($1095), I have to sign a one year lease. I was stunned to see such a increase in rent and went to rental office. They said that they have done it for all residents. Ofcourse they were wrong because I know few people in same apartment who are still paying the same rent and statying with month to month lease. Another shock came to me when I found out that they are offering $1045 rent with six months lease to new residents. I?m sure they?ll have same experience once they finish their lease. My advice will be to either go for 1 year lease minimum or be prepared for high increase in rent after your lease ends.
Also I want to mention that menagement never had any complaints against us and we always paid full rent in advance. They are too greedy and inconsiderate to present residents. Other cons are ofcourse, no open parking or guest parking at all. Also there has been recent cases of burgulary and kids braking windows with fire extenguishers.
Sure there are some pros too. Apartment size is good (800 Sq. Ft.) and Laundry doesn't need quaters.
