First and foremost, ShadowBrook is likely the most beautiful complex in Silicon Valley. So beautiful, in fact, that I took some pictures and put them on my blog:
http://homepage.mac.com/sonofthesonofman/cocoa/pag you can see, there is a river (complete with waterfalls) running throughout the property, trees of all sorts including some truly beautiful redwoods, and a wealth of other shrubs, plants, and flowers everywhere. All of this put together creates a rustic, woodsy, yet deliberately and nicely designed environment, which I often refer to as a little slice of paradise.

Regarding the staff, maintenance is always prompt and courteous, and we also love ShadowBrook's manager, Diane. She is the most respectful manager I have ever met. While most other managers seem to be stern and cold, Diane is warm and down to earth. One example: Instead of sending out a stern letter telling residents not to feed the ducks, she sent out a request that we not feed them and explained why, providing a web URL which discusses the health of ducks. She cares not just for the property but for the ducks themselves.

Last but not least, unlike most other apartment complexes, ShadowBrook cheerfully allows cats. This was the most important thing to my wife and me, and to find such a beautiful place as ShadowBrook was just a dream come true. Hats off to ShadowBrook, it is, to our way of thinking a perfect place to live.
