Comfortable

I have been living in a junior 1 bedroom on the second floor for the past 11 months. Fortunately, I have had very quite, considerate neighbors, but I do occasionally hear the neighbor's stereo. Also, I've learned that people in the downstairs apartments can hear the footsteps of people upstairs walking around. So, I'd avoid the downstairs, as well as the apartments which face Wolfe Rd.

The floor plan is comfortable and there is an abundance of closet space including a walk-in closet. The kitchen is open to the living room, which is a little strange. The balcony is nice. My unit has a real door leading to the bedroom and a dishwasher, but not all units have these things.

Management replaced the carpeting when I moved in, as well as applying a spray-on white finish to the counters and shower. It looks ok, but wears quickly.

As others have said, the water does occasionally turn rusty. Plenty of hot water and good water pressure.

The pool is my biggest complaint. It would be a beautiful pool if they would only heat and maintain it properly. It was an ongoing disappointment all year. Perhaps the new managers will improve this situation (')

The fitness/rec center is actually the original house which was on the property. I found this charming, though its interior needs work. Also, there are parties scheduled there on some weekend evenings, so it's not always available. Culturally, I feel isolated, because so many Indian immigrants live in the complex, but you don't see too many people period on a daily basis anyway.

Safeway grocery store is within convenient and pleasant walking distance, and a nursery is also close by if you like outdoor plants. Otherwise, though, it's NOT a very interesting neighborhood to walk in. There's no good place to walk TO. Sunnyvale is a very boring place.

For the record, they offered me a new 12-mo lease with no rent increase. I may move to Cupertino however.
