WE HATE ARCHSTONE: THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!

We have lived at Archstone for 2 years. Since we have lived here in a 1 bedroom / 1 bathroom apartment, they have raised the rent twice, once from $1315 to $1540, and now they want to charge us $1800 to renew another year lease (A Total of almost $500 increase!!! In 24 months). The made apartment renovations (hence the first price change) and the craftsmanship was horrifying. We had a list of 40 problems with the work done (some of which were FIRE HAZARDS) They have no consideration for the tenants; they use tenant parking so they can park in a covered carport, while other residents have to find street parking, they have CONSTANT construction and loud landscaping almost all of the time. If you are not in compliance with their RULES (which they make up as they go along) they will post notices on your door for EVERYTHING and charge you a $50 fee if not fixed. For example, leaving trash in front of your door, or hanging towels, or anything that stands out from your balcony. They have made it impossible and unbearable to live here and people need to be warned that Archstone may look nice in the pictures, but they are concerned with PROFIT and not the tenants that occupy the apartment and will do quick and dirty repairs to minimize their costs. They should be ashamed of running the old tenants out (some of which are on a fixed income), just so they can hike up the rent, and take advantage that people can no longer afford their mortgages and are forced to live in an apartment. We HATE Archstone and wished that we were still under the old management that were concerned about their community of tenants. We cannot wait to leave her when our lease is up so we can rent a house for the same amount of money Archstone is asking for a measly 1 bedroom apartment. qmzu4EHcaGAPVCPw2Fai
