Don't live here -- awful staff, awful security, just plain awful

My husband and I lived here (in one of the "upscale" 2-story townhome-style apartments with loft) and couldn't get out of there fast enough. During the time we lived there, a drug dealer moved into the unit next door (and had noisy visitors at all hours of the night), a lady was mugged inside the complex and cars were vandalized twice.
Many months after we moved out, they suddenly claimed we owed them an additional painting and cleaning deposit (even though we showed proof that we paid them a $125 painting and cleaning deposit when we moved in). They could not explain why they felt entitled to collect this additional fee. The property manager who conducted our final walk-though said everything was A-OK when we moved out and there was nothing above standard wear and tear, which is normal.
After doing some research, I found that the so-called "painting and cleaning fee" is a violation of California Civil Code, Section 190.5. Look it up and you'll see. They are just money-grubbers out to scam the residents, so don't fall for it and know your rights.
There is so much management turnover at that place that you never get good property management service either. It is also overpriced for what you get. Trust me on this one, don't do it.
