You'll get killed with charges on move-out

Very nice neighbourhood. Overall, we had a nice experience during the time we stayed in the apartment. Yes, kids are always flying around on skates and bikes in the parking lots and roads all times of day and night, you need to be very cautious driving inside the complex. Some older kids play loud music in their cars, especially Friday nights.
But if you cook any kind of ethnic food, you are doomed. A clause in the contract says that the renter will be responsible for any food odour after move out. Food odour, as you can imagine, is subjective at best. After staying in the apartment for 1 year, we got slapped with around $1500 in charges on move-out for food-odour in the walls, carpets and even kitchen cabinets! After arguing with the property manager and almost filing a case in small claims court, they agreed to retract some of the charges.
If you plan on staying here, consider the security deposit a gift to management.
