Too noisy for the price.

Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2007
Noise Level:
The walls and floors are very thin, so you can hear your neighbors every move; particularly what they are watching on t.v. The floors squeak and creek a bit much from neighbors moving about above. Even the friendliest of neighbors would have a hard time appeasing their fellow tenants-- imagine what a rude neighbor would be like.
Cleanliness:
Now we are clean and tidy people, and we discovered an ant infestation in our bathroom. We don t know why, or how, but it certainly increased our want to leave.
When we first moved in, the bottoms of our feet turned black because the carpet was so filthy. It just looked like they changed a few light fixtures and slapped a fresh coat of paint on the walls.
Laundry facility is too small and filthy.
Parking:
Parking is just insane. Each unit is given 1 covered parking spot, but you can just forget it if you have 2 cars. You'll be parking all over the parking lot. The pavement is broken apart, and the bottom of your car bottoms out when you first pull in. The paint markers (direction arrows; parking spaces; etc) are all but faded away. The 30 minute parking rule in the front of the building is enforced on some but not on others. I for one, was told not to park there (my unit is directly located near where I was parking), but I still find my neighbors parking there. Over-sized or extended pickup trucks stick far out on either side, making it harder to maneuver through the already narrow parking area.
There is a rack for your bicycles, but they will become wet from the sprinklers. Not sure why they have a sprinkler system, as the grass is mostly dead most of the time anyway.
The Value:
Overall, the management is very poor, and seemingly bias to hard working young couples.
This place would be good if it were perhaps $200 or $300 cheaper a month, then all would be forgiven-- you get what you pay for. But not in this case, the cost far surpasses the value. This is especially insulting to those who can t have their pets live with them: No pets allowed. For the size, about 800sqft (1bed, 1bath), you could probably find something a little better for the cost. Even a slightly smaller place would be more worth the money.
You buck doesn t get very far here.
This place is more for the busy socialite, who is never home. It s really just a place to sleep and bath. Not recommended for a stay at home mom, or anyone without a social life.
The Perks:
All utilities are included.
It s located in Thousand Oaks, which is a pretty safe place.
T.O. Blvd is right up the road, and also located near both the 23 and 101 freeways.
There is a recreational park next to it, and it s close to fine dining.
It may be good for some, but not me, and I wouldn t recommend it to my friends.
