Very disappointing, pet owners beware

I moved to this property because I had a great experience at another property owned by the same management company. The waterfront location is impressive at first glance, but after just a few months of living here I've found that location is the only thing this property has going for it. The leasing office staff is unprofessional and often unresponsive to tenant concerns. This property advertises itself as pet friendly, but pet owners in particular should beware. I am a dog owner who has never had problems with a landlord before, and have been shocked by the way the office staff treats not just me but a number of dog owners I've met here. In addition, the sidewalks are covered in dog and cat feces constantly. The apartment interiors, appliances and plumbing are not well maintained. Buildings are poorly insulated and we can hear every noise our neighbors make. Laundry facilities are completely inadequate with only 2 washer/dryers per 40 apartments. Some of the buildings have started to sink into the ground over the years and my apartment is actually so slanted that my closet doors won't stay shut. Overall, this place is really a dive showcased in a nice neighborhood.

I have lived at The Cove for well over 15 years. I'am sorry to hear these residents had a poor experience, as I find these allegations exzagerated at best. The Cove management has always responded timely and professionally to all my concerns and service requests for myself and neighbors. Fortunately, The Cove is very pet friendly with some breed restrictions. Unfortunately, some pet owners are not as responsible as they should be and take for granted this priveledge. The grounds are very well kept and I rarely ever find messy sidewalks. Service requests, from my experience, are usually corrected within 24 hours. There is something like 15 laundry rooms conveniently located throughout the complex, some with 3 or 4 washer dryers per apartment. If these folks need their closet doors adjusted, they should have just called the office to be correct. I have enjoyed many community events here at the Cove including disaster planning hosted by management and the fire department. It was explained in that meeting that the buildings are inspected annually and have piers under the building to bedrock. I have not found in any of the three apartments I have lived in here to have settling concerns. I hope these folks find happiness and sorry to see them take these allegations out on Marin County's premier complex and mostly the cove management!
