Biggest problems are with management and neighbors.

Ive been here a long time and have to start out saying the apartment layout is something im quite fond of. Big rooms & closet space, open feeling kitchen, and nice sized patio. It has a nice tennis court and the pool area isnt bad either.

-Parking: Its poorly designed. One side of the complex has adequate parking and decent sized spots. The other side has horrible parking and tiny spots. The small size of the parking spots in some areas is exacerbated by large trucks taking up multiple spots. Ive never seen a car towed, illegally parked or not.

-Noise: Well my room faces the parking lot and I can hear a whisper through the paper thin windows. Every single car that drives by seems noisy. Every single person walking by seems noisy. Kids....I wont complain. Kids are kids and need to play. The worst things are the leaf blowers and mowers. Ugh somehow they seem early in the morning and often throughout the week. I can stand the noise from the upstairs neighbors. That isnt very bad, however when someone runs a bath, its quite noisy.

-Neighbors: Im not exactly a people person, but ive had some pretty horrible neighbors, including the ones i have now. The apartment across from me (looking out my front door) has had the worst tenants the past several years. First, a young couple who would have guests coming and going at all hours and parties at all hours. They would flick their cigarette butts everywhere including on my patio. They would leave trash everywhere. They would do drugs on their patio openly. Management never did anything as far as i could tell.
After they left it didnt get much better. The current tenants are annoying as hell. Multiple families reside in the same apartment and i see many more come and go on a regular basis. This sort of thing seems like its becoming more and more common -_-.

-Maintenance: Mixed review. The maintenance workers themselves are great guys. Super friendly and cool. They do a decent job and i havnt had complaints with their work. The problems I have had are the jobs that have been needed ie. stuff breakin down. On 3 separate occasions we've had leaks that required major repairs. 2 times my upstairs neighbors washroom leaked, and 1 time there was slab damage in my bathroom. Management was horrible in coordinating the work that needed to be done, and each leak took far too long to fix with far too much trouble for me. In fact workers were actually pulled out of my place to go and work on a leak in another apartment because they told me it was an emergency. WTF my room flooded wasnt'!'!'! Management did a great job treating me like a second class tenant.

-Staff: which brings me to the front office. In my experience most of them suck. There have been one or two polite ones over the years, but it seems the most of them are trained to be a-holes. They lie to you about your rights as a tenant even after you demonstrate your understanding of said rights. Ridiculous. My advice is to go online to get information on your rights as a tenant in California. Also get everything in writing. Threaten to take them to court if they try and deny your rights. Took me a long time to learn that.

Now im leaving after 7 years because the rent is too high and the place is a bit worn down. >_> i just hope i get my deposit back after the move out inspection. Guess we'll see.
