Time to leave!

Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2008
I was pretty content living in this apartment complex until it was sold. The new
Management is not Good! Please rethink moving here! You will probably regrett it.
I have lived at this apartment complex for over two years. I am leaving my 3 bedroom apartment with new oak cabinets and carpet that was 6 mos. old had a courtyard for our block, parking lot a way for the college. my kids love to feed the ducks! we were in within mederios school district and we felt safe. The new management and apartment maintenance staff are ridiculous. The rent has gone up $100 without any improvements or causes for it to go up. In some parts of the apartment complex the grounds have become unsafe for children. electrical boxes are open and exposed, large tree limbs are being left in courtyards where kids play, nails in the dirt left by maintenance people, I have seen branches just break and hang over peoples cars and in the walk ways. Large trees need to be maintained and trimmed when they are right next to your window and cars. My apartment has had a moisture problem- causing "mildew" to grow on my sons bedroom wall and window. The windows seals in our apartment were filling with water. bugs were coming in through our sliding door. I couldn't stand the smell of my apartment!!!!!!!!!! My sons' room was the worst. I gave my son's the master bedroom, we took the smaller room and the other room was a toy room. The smell in the boys' room bothered me so much that I had them sleep with me most of the time. the room was kept clean but there was always an oder. I had issues with water running down the windows every morining,I noticed mildew on the window and blinds, of course I cleaned it. I thought that would be it, but it became an on going issue. I began complaining, I was told to just wipe down the windows because it was caused by body heat = causing condensation. I have never experienced this in my life! I think the maintenace is full of bull....
everyday I had 3 hand towels soaking wet!! One maintenance guy told me that water was coming in from the wall because of small leaks in the roofand seaping down the window frame. They drilled holes in the window seals to let the windows drain out. --More spiders!!!!! the carpet has a horrible smell; it looks clean. parts of the carpet padding has been replaced a coulple of times in the last 5mos. Water was coming into the living room from the sliding door. When I moved my sons bed I found dark green "mildew" covering the bottom of the trundel and on the bottom of the clothing drawers in the bed. I went to the management and complained about the mildew and water in my sons bedroom, I asked the maintenance to please come and clean the window/Wall/carpet area and it took 3 days before they came. After the first day of waiting I decided I was not going to wait to clean the bed. I really wanted them to see how bad it was but I just got madder and frustrated as I waited for someone to come. My kids' health is more important than me proving my case. there was mildew on the wall which I found after I noticed the bookcase in front of it had it on it. I had to put my kids' stuff animals away because they had the mildew oder on them, I would have thrown them away or washed them if it weren't for the fact that they were from Build A Bear and the first birhday and christmas. fabric and wood are porus and so it has been very hard to get rid of the smell. I have cleaned the bed and everything else with bleach etc. so many times. I threw out my son's full size mattress and twin size mattress because the mildew smell is in it. Even though I never saw mildew on the matress. I have wipped down the other peices of my kids' furniture from the toy room and moved it to our new house but I can still smell it a litte, I hope with time it will go away.
I can not afford to throw away thousands of dollars in furnitre and toys. I had to clean all of my kids' clean clothes again after we moved. Even clothes that were new and still had a price tag. I have found mildew on my husbands expensive dress shoes and some of my hadbags in our closets. This apartment management is not interested in fixing probelms at the source. The one maintence guy who told me about the problems and encouraged me to keep complaining is no longer here. I am not one to complain and make a big fuss, but after a while I became fed up! Why sould I have to wipe down the windows, blinds, wall, and now our furniture all the time. But I did!!
Living here has become a nightmare!!! 1 month before I gave my notice let them know
that the dishwasher wasn't working and that the bathroom sink was leaking 4 days later the maintenance guy shows up fixes the dishwasher looks at the sink and then says that he needs to go to the office. He shut off the hot water valve to the sink, didn't tell us and never came back.
They have several administrative people and only one guy to doing the repairs. This apartment complex is going to become another run down apartment complex, which is unfortunate. I really like this area and the schools. I felt safe and enjoyed walking to Mederios school park and being a chain link fence (with an opening) away from CSU Stanislaus. With as many problems I have had here in the past 8 mos. When asked why I was leaving I didn't tell them!! I just said its "Time to Leave". This office doesn't really care and I was not in the mood to hear some lame excuse. I just want out. I feel sad for my kids who are having a hard to adjusting to a new home. The "Board Walk" formaly Windsor Court is the only home my sons can remember.
I would not consider another apartment here at this apartment. I am not the only tenet either! Many longtime residents are leaving.
