They pull out the red carpet when your applying to their place, but as soon as you move in you are treated as a BURDEN. The staff all have the same unfriendly mannerism, and when you walk in the office they look at you like 'What do YOU want'. In the year that I have lived here we never visisted the lovely Club Room that is presented as a Feature when you move in, because I couldn't stand the way the staff glared whenever in their presence.
CHECK YOUR LEASE TERM DATE VERY CAREFULLY! They give you the option to sign a 6 month or 1 year lease and IF OFFERED PROMOTIONAL MOVE IN RATE THEY ADD AN EXTRA MONTH and put an ending date of 13 months! When questioned about it the answer is "I DON'T KNOW, The staff who signed you up is no longer with us (They change too many times to count) BUT, that's what you signed, and it would cost over $3,000 to break the least just 1 month prior to ending date!!
Laundry facilities on site are run by some type of Card that you must put credit on, the machine is located in the office which is only accessible during business hours. Upon finalizing our move in paperwork, I witnessed a tenant come in and report to the staff dealing with me that the machine took her money but gave her no credit......the response from the staff was "Not our problem, we don't own the machine, you have to call the number listed on it" all with a nasty don't bother me attitude.
The parking, your only assigned 1 garage OR carport depending on the size of your apt. and the rest is first come, first serve...countless times we have had to drive around several times to find a parking with kids in tow, groceries laundry etc. I suspect that people from the nearby Bar are coming and parking in the complex while they drink, so as to deter the police waiting to nab drunk drivers. Several times I've witnessed large groups of people obviously intoxicated roaming through the parking lots after bar closing. I had another tenant complain to me one day while we were in the jacuzzi, saying that they were only living their One Month and were considering breaking the lease, because another tenant kept parking in their assigned parking without regard to their numerous complaints, until finally the new tenant had the others car towed....the morning after the new tenant came out to find their nearly NEW CAR WAS KEYED ALL THE WAY AROUND.
The security gate is just an Eye Sore waste of space and money. Every single night starting from the hour they lock the gates till about 3 a.m. rows of cars park in the firelane with blaring music, waiting to tailgate in as soon as someone opens the gate. There have been incidents where the really rude ones continuously honk their horn and blare their music to get anyone annoyed enough to just come out of their apt. to open the gate. The key to the walk in gate has been non-functional since we moved in a year ago...they claimed the mechanism was damaged and they would replace it and 1 year later still the same. I watch students, mothers carrying children, standing by the gates waiting till the drive thru gate opens to enter the apt. Others that are physically able just jump the gates. The complex has an area that meets up against a park area where homeless individuals live in their vehicles. After one week living here I witnessed a tenant complaining that the fence is always being broken creating passageway for them to enter the complex and have been stealing from peoples patios. They also mentioned that one good person that thankfully returned a toddler child that wanderered out through the passage.
Several inspections are performed throughout the year and no attempt is made to schedule them in a manner of convenience. They send out notices advicing they will charge fees to the tenant if inspection is not able to be performed at Their Convenience.
Our Garage was broken into and I blame the complex for we have first hand experience when we moved in and opened our garage with the electronic opener TWO OTHER GARAGES WITHEN OUR AREA OPENED WITH OUR REMOTE! We tested it several times to make sure it wasn't a coincidence and proved that was not the case. We had to request the maintenance to reprogram our remote. Obviously someone without morals in our position would take advantage of this type of situation.
The kitchen & bathroom cabinets are old and smell very musky.....complained numerous times upon move in to no avail......needed to put strong scented candles in all closed cubbards and sprinkle baking soda under all shelve linings to cover up the worst of it. The bathroom towel holders start falling out of the walls after just a week of normal use. The bathtubs are of cheap fiberglass type and were cracked upon moving in, repaired, and are already cracking withen the year. You don't feel secure in the shower as if you way more than 50 lbs. you feel the center of the tub caving under your weight and have to position your footing to prevent damage.
I ALMOST FORGOT TO MENTION WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOUR LEASE IS UP!! They try to trap you into another lease by offering a new lease at a $100 INCREASE (never late, no complaints against us) BUT, if you choose to stay month to month the increase is $150 more rent PLUS a MONTH TO MONTH FEE OF $200 EACH AND EVERY MONTH making new rent $350 MORE PER MONTH!!!! I'D RATHER LIVE IN MY CAR IF I DON'T FIND A PLACE IN TIME THAN GIVE THEM $1 MORE THAN THE TERM OF THE LEASE.
I could go on and on..........Bottom line, it all falls back to POOR MANAGEMENT, so if you appreciate GOOD CUSTOMER RELATIONS, THIS IS NOT THE PLACE FOR YOU!!

I know exactly who you are talking about because only one person who has been keyed since i have lived here, and it has been 3 yrs! I love my apartment, it is sooo peaceful and i love how spacious the 1 bedroom is. I was looking all over the place and most other places have tiny living rooms for much more per month. My place is large, and it is very nice. maybe you should stop being such a negative ned and be happy for once in your life!

I think i know about the person who was keyed, they were my neighbors. It was sad, but we later found out who it was and it was not a resident. it was actually an ex boyfriend of course.

one last thing, smart one....All leases end on the last day of the month. ALL....get a clue. Its not a 13 month lease unless it extends through the date of the start date...educate yourself...and no counting on your fingers does not count.
