i lived here for 2 years and had an overall pleasant experience with a few hiccups along the way. i lived in the 1/1 bungalow style apts that faced california. there are 2/1.5 townhomes that face california in this apt complex. i'd advise you if you are going to rent here then try to get something facing california st - that way you don't get the vibe that you ae living in an apt complex. the only sucky thing about facing california st is when there are baseball games across the street you have to listen to all of the screaming women - it gets annoying. also you get the delta breeze which is nice.
pluses: 1/1 rent $850, neighbors were nice and quiet, maintenance guy - jose good work but limited english, received decent amount back for security deposit
negatives: utility charge $65/75 per month, laundry room avail, people hanging out in front of their apts at all hours (i guess they don't work'''), management
n-e-v-e-r in the office, rarely get a phone call back if message left, office on site usually closed during hours of operation (sucks if you need to load $ on your laundry card), the ac didn't work very well just had to leave it on all the time (avg pge bill $70).
apts have 70's style appliances and old refridgerators. warning: if you get the 1/1 there are NO drawers for silverware and utensils, that was something we didn't learn until after moving in.
i didn't have a bad experience living here, it was enjoyable for the most part even though my list of negatives are longer than the pluses.
