I lived at the Monecito apartments for over two years and the quality went downhill from the beginning. The worst thing about the place is that the management didn't seem to care. Below I will give a few true scenarios that I was put through.

First someone else was parking in my assigned space. The office asked if I would like a different space or be put on a waiting list for a garage. NO WAY. Didn't even want to tow this other person.

Second, after 3 months someone moved in below me that had parties at night a few times a week usually starting around the time the local bars close. Other residents in my building got so fed up on complaing that they started calling the police. Lantz security who patrolls the parking lot a cuople times a night told me personally that "their hands were tied". Once again the Managment offered to move me to a different building not the party animal. The manager herself "Jodi" told us that she herself personally walked over to this guy's balcany and told them to hold it down. I don't know how 10 guys fit into a studio apartment, but thats another story.

Third the Monecito painting crew is leased a garage in my building where they store their hundreds of gallons of oil based paint and gasoline along with small generators while leaving thier "Clock Shop" work van aboandoned in one of the very few visitors spaces. The smell from that garage reached it's way into my laundry. Other people moved out the same month that I did also revealing to me that the toxic smell sent them to a hotel for a few nights because it was unbearable. The garage door was left open all day for everyone to see. Even when it was closed it smelled toxic.

The managment told me that it was just as safe as parking a car in the garage. The very next day I see sparks flying and go have a look and took pictures of the OPEN buckets of paint right next to gasoline. They were grinding metal 5 feet from this, showering my new car in sparks.

I finaly decided to move and the head of maintenance inspected my apartment and told me that it was the cleanest apartment he had inspected, that I would not be charged any cleaning fee and I had nothing to worry about. He then confirmed that to another occuppant. The assistant manager told us that we would receive our deposit for the keys back and that we wouldn't have to worry about the paint that was tracked in due to un announced touch ups that were made to the balcany. Then we got charged for clean up, and the inspection man of course denies ever assuring us that we would not have to pay for anything else.

My public access gate at the bottom of my steps never locked making the apartment no longer a closed community as they advertise. My name still wasn't in the gate directory when I left and I lived there TWO YEARS! Go figure,...what managment'

To top off everything, I was sent a carpet cleaning bill after I was ASSURED I wouldn't. The management is out to lunch and I would not recommend moving there. The ants are terrebile, the mosquitos from the neighboring golf course are a huge problem. The pool is the only thing that they have going right. When it's clean!

Jodi was real nice when she was showing the appartments to us, then never followed up on complaints and treated us second rate. She acted like we were bothering her. Watch out for Jodi. I can't stand two faced people in a position of power. But then agian I would probably be bitter too if I was in my late 30's mannaging apartments.

STAY AWAY Lots of apartment are being built right now that look great.

ps They won't give you the gate code unless you are Dommino's or Fed Ex.
$999 when I move in, ow it is up to 1085.
Add 100 for a garage (if your on the waiting list)
All true, sorry to say.

I live here and I was finally waiting for someone to post the truth

I find reading this very funny. The original was obviously written by someone who has no life. Why would you create fake feedback to the long fictitious letter you wrote in the first place? Hmmm. Didn't you think that would look suspicious if the response feedback was written a few days after the original? If you hated Montecito so much, why did you stay there for so long? Two years is a long time to suffer in such misery. Sounds like you are just bitter about your deposit and rent increase. I guess you could not afford the huge $86 rent increase after living in Valencia for 2 years. Everyone knows that rent prices fluctuate with the housing market. Now it more understandable why your deposit was such a big issue for you. It's a good thing that you moved somewhere less classy that is affordable for you. In addition, if the management didn't care, why did you admit all of the resolutions that were offered when you apparently had your "problems"? I find it hard to believe that any of your complaints are true. P.S....Next time you decide to create slanderous comments, at least establish some credibility by using proper spelling and grammar.

But I notice your post was only a few weeks after the first. which means that you be droppin the precious minutes of your life faster than you do crappy insults.

And by the way, curt521, or managment rather, since the above was written by you.... if you had to slave away for every penny you earn in this white man's paradise, you might be bitter about slumlords increasing rent too. If fools were sparking up their sh** next to open oil and paint cans, I'd be demanding my money back also. I think you ought to go move your bed down to that stank a$$ garage and breathe in the fumes for awhile. See if thats worth the $1000 a month.

I only wrote ONE feedback. (what do you mean "a few days after the original"). That (dont_move_here_ok) was another resident that left because of the paint fumes and construction noise that went on for multiple months right out her window. I know this for a fact. Even visitors were amazed this was allowed.

Curt521 just curious, are you an apartment magager or an english teacher?

The managment didn't care and NO resolutions were offered. As you say they were.

You "find it hard to believe that any of my complaints are true". Huh. I have pictures and witnesses.
You WERE NOT THERE.
I left NO DEPOSIT (you wrote that I did)
get your facts straight.

Punk saying I have no life better go pump some weights.
