Happy at the Montecito

After just renewing for a second year here, I feel comfortable in saying that the Montecito is one of the top two apartment complexes I have lived in over the years.
I guess a lot depends on perspective. Considering that prior to here, I was living in a "luxury" apartment in Westwood, paying over $2,000 a month and getting treated like garbage by the management, I was very picky about choosing my next place.
In the year plus I have been here, I have not heard a single two-stroke motor cycle, so maybe that person moved out. This is the only complex I have lived in that lives up to its billing of being "gated" as the gates have not once malfunctioned. And contrary to previous reviews, I do not find people following residents in. The only time of year I ever have trouble finding a spot is right after the New Year and in August (I attribute that to people moving at the New Year and possible the beginning of college in August).
As far as maintenance goes, I've had very few problems and all have been taken care of within 24 hours. I've never even paid to replace a light bulb.
Every member of the staff in the leasing office knows me by name and always ask how things are going.
I was somewhat disappointed with the sizeable increase in rent when I renewed, but it's to be expected with the home market the way it is.
NO, I am not a manager. Feel free to search for reviews I've written on other complexes if you doubt it.

I completely agree. Montecito has gone far past my expectations of living in an apartment complex. I only have two neighbors, everyone seems to have a clear understanding of common courtesy and respect, and the management has always addressed any issues of mine in a timely manner. The location you can???t beat! And, as much as I???ve always thought that an apartment can???t be a ???home???, Montecito does a pretty damn good job.

I have to disagree with your postings, The only nice thing about this complex is the golf course views and the walking distance to Town Center, The rent is outrageous high for these dated aparments, the kitchens are so digusting, the tiles are so dirty and old, you would think with all the money they make on this place they would do some updating, I don't know what you all are use to it but I for myself like to cook in a clean kitchen, the pool area smells badly!! I rather live in a nice clean aparment than having a golf course view, C'mon, this place supposed to be on a upscale neighborhood in the prestigious side of Valencia! what a joke!!
