I've lived here a long time! And I've seen it all here at Mountain Vista. The complex was kind of nice when I first moved in, but as the rent went up the quality of service and general upkeep went down. They like to water the cement around here which swamps most of the grass areas. The front is very nice and the middle is ok too, but the people in back have it bad. There are thieves and vandals that live or "visit" here every day. It's called a gated comunity but if there is no gaurd at the gate then the gate is pointless. All walkway entrances have been closed excluding 2 which makes no sense when a smart card is required at all entrances. If we all try to leave at once we're in trouble. I have neighbors that have been burglarized. I have neighbors that deal crystal meth in the parking lot. I have seen security gaurds dealing drugs on the property. But this is So. California so I'm sure this is the norm. There are definately far worse places to live in Victorville, believe me. Moutain Vista should not however advertise as a gated community and charge higher rent when absolutely anyone can access the property, any day any time. The gates are left opened 40% of the time and anyone can drive in after you have opened the gate. It's an ok place to live if you keep to yourself, keep your vehicle empty at all times and your doors and windows locked when you're gone or sleeping.
