Pros and Cons about Bella Terra

From: asefati
Date posted: 3/24/2009
Years at this apartment: 2009 - 2009

I just moved out of Bella Terra after living there for 1.5 years and here is an honest review focusing and good and bad things about these apartments.

Pros\Good things
----------------
- Friendly Staff: Staff and management are friendly while you are their resident and every time you go the main office they treat you with respect and professionally.
- Clean Facilities: Facilities are kept clean and presentable. I like laundry room every time I used it and although I never used the pool, it looked pretty clean from the outside. Parking lot was clean, landscaping and cleaning was done on regular basis.
- Maintenance is prompt: Maintenance resolved all my issued within one business day.

Cons\Bad Things:
----------------
- Parking: It used to be very hard to park in that complex because there were so many cars but instead of solving that problem by provding more parking space or perhaps making a parking structure, management took the cheap and easy route and banned all guest parking. So if you have guests visiting you, the must park on the streets but be advised that street parking is unsafe as many cars get broken into. Also once a week you can't park on the streets until 5 pm so if you have a guest during that time they won't be able to park anywhere close to the complex.
Also starting April they are limiting 2 or 3 vehicles per complex which is very inconvenient for the large families with many cars.

- Rent: Bella Terra apartment want to claim that they are a luxury apartment so they charge you premium rent but they are far from it. For the amount of rent I paid I have lived in better and more luxurious apartments where I had more amenities and had my own washer\dryer machine inside. On top of a high rent, you will have to pay rent and also pay for all utilities including water and trash.

- Deposits: It's really hard to get your deposit specially when you live in the place long enough, there will be natural wear and tear but management will charge you for every bit. If you are lucky you won't get a bill.

- Location: The complex is only a few minutes from the county jail and that can be a good thing ever. Also the complex is nowhere near any nice park or walking trails if you decide to go for a morning jog.

- Security: The fact that the location is close to a jail doesn't make the place very secure. Frequent car break-ins are common but the management are trying to keep it safer by employing night security guard. But in my opinion they are do a lot more, for instance making the complex gated.

Conclusion:
It's going to be vary hard for me recommend or discourage others from renting there however I personally would never live there again because one thing that bothered me was not getting my deposit back and getting a bill on top of that. The bill was small but the management tried to explain why there was one and I tried to explain why I shouldn't be charged so much but they didn't care.
