You can do better

Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2007
My roommate has been here for over a year and I've been here since June 2006. I went with him to the leasing office, picked up a rental application so I could be added to the lease, paid the fee, and waited.
And waited.
And waited.
Over 8 months later, I've never been contacted by the leasing office to come in and make me official. Fine, it means I'm not obligated to anything anyway.
That's not really that bad, but it's an indicator of the competence of the office staff. The security here is non-existent. My roommate's car was broken into and his stereo stolen over Christmas while we were both away. The complex is located off of a VERY busy street, Emerald Dr. Yes, it's convenient to be right off of the 78, but it also means that traffic is very congested in the morning and evening hours (also due to the school nearby). Therefore, getting out of here is a pain in the neck.
There have been some maintenance issues, too. Our front door is so loose that my roommate has been able to let himself in without using the key (when the deadbolt is not locked) and maintenance has been here to look at it twice. The solution' WD-40. The door is still uncomfortably loose.
We are very much looking forward to moving once the lease is up and going somewhere far nicer with a lot more space for the same amount of money.
In short: you can do better than the Waterleaf.
