I just gave notice. These apartments are pretty low quality -- doubt if they'd hold up in an earthquake. The toilet broke. The doors are cheap. There is no wheelchair acessibility or even movement-impaired accomodations anywhere on this property (my dad is disabled). There is almost no security -- I've frequently seen broken windows, and I talked to a police officer about it. In all fairness, it's about as crappy as some of the other apartments I've lived in which were owned and managed by huge corporations. It is convenient -- right next to Bart, various stores, and the freeway. In all fairness, I actually liked this place better than the BRE apartment I lived in (Emeryville), which was also managed by a no-class, fly-by-night corporation like Archstone. I'd only recommend it if you needed a short-term solution.
