I am a travel nurse and was "assigned" an apratment here. The office staff was extremely rude. The apartment smelled of cigarette smoke and the only effort to "fix" the problem was to spray a sweet smelling solution to cover it up. I lived in a hotel for a week while I waited for my company to find me a better place.

The way they tried to fix the problem is typical for the management and maintenance crew. Lucky for you that you discovered the problem in time and did not have to live there.

Ironic that someone else also had problems with the cigarette smoke smell. They told me that I was imagining it.

I too had problems with cig smoke when we moved in. They put a glade plug in in every room and coated the air with OUST. My new apartment smelled like a flowery, citrusy smoke-filled ashtray!
