We've lived here for 3 years and have just moved out. Initially this complex was wonderful; clean, friendly management staff, quiet complex and affordable rent. Over the last year though things got sour.

The management staff usually does not last longer than 3-4 months so every time you have an issue, you talk to a new person, who of course writes it down on a yellow posted and looses it. The support staff is usually pleasant until they find out that you are an existing tenant and then the tone changes.... We've had to remind 2 or 3 of them that we are paying tenants and that inadvertently we are paying their salary....

The rent has been going up with the market which is expected, however there is no discount if you've been a tenant for years. Most apartments will add an additional $50 to your monthly, Archstone will add anywhere from $150 - $300. Basically you will be paying for a gym that you are not using because it is not air conditioned and gets extremely hot and two pools.

Parking is a nightmare if you have more than one car and sometime it's a nightmare if you only have one. We've had 6 cars towed from our spot because tenants are just getting fed up and parking wherever they see a spot.

The grounds used to be maintained but recently the complex started accepting dogs and now the grass is fertilized by their excrements.

And I could go on and on and on, but hopefully you get the picture. Think of this place as a cattle call... you are only there to give them your rent check on the 1st and they'll store you in their barn for as long as you will stand it.....

Good luck to the rest.....

you are paying for the running of that community...yes it is overpriced forthe quality but there is NO RENT CONTROL IN EAST BAY!!! that is why the Market goes up so much and the rent is DIRECTLY comparable with Park Regency (has Rats) and some other apartments...the pricing is also based on how manyy apts are available...the landscaping is most likely due to no money in the budget and a lazy company that they might be trying to replace...they have had dogs for at least 2 years....and I agree this place is yuck and I tell people not to live here...DON'T BLAME THE MESSENGERS OF THINGS THOUGH UNDERSTAND THE PEOPLE IN THE OFFICE DO NOT COME UP WITH ANYTHING>THEY ARE TOLD WHAT TO SAY AND DO...
