Let me first say that I never, NEVER do this. But, let me stop ANY future lease agreements.
I'm not a vindictive person. I work in the customer relation's business. I KNOW how customers SHOULD BE treated...and this system here at Archstone is SEVERELY broken.
The management DOES NOT CARE ABOUT YOU after you sign on that dotted line.
Every positive review written on this site is FROM MANAGEMENT. No really. EVERY POSITIVE RATING IS FROM MANAGEMENT. Disclaimer: People from management live in these apartments.
YOU CAN and SHOULD look elsewhere.
They only care about signing NEW leases. They DO NOT CARE ABOUT RETENTION. THEY DO NOT WANT TO KEEP YOU. They like to "flip" these leases.
Make your own decision. BUT, don't plead ignorance. This place is broken and nobody there cares about YOU.
In this market YOU HAVE THE BUYING power--not them.
Have a wonderful day. And if I prevented anyone from signing a lease then I have done my job.
(Please pay it forward)

Im so sorry you feel this way. I am NOT apart of management. I just signed my renewal lease and as I dont wish to disclose what the financial arrangement was, I am truly happy with what I was able to work out with the leasing office for another year in our unit. I do notice that you gave a 3 point rating out of 5 for a place that you dont recommend... thats interesting.

I wrote a positive review and I don't, nor have ever worked for Archstone.

To whom it concerns:
I think some people might be over-reading the over-generalization of "all positive ratings are from employees or former employees of Archstone."
If you HAVE had a positive experience with Archstone, then you are fortunate. I am not out to destroy this company.
I AM trying to prevent anyone who is on the fence about Archstone. This company DOES NOT CARE ABOUT KEEPING good, honest, problem-free residents. They only care about "flipping" and signing NEW leases--not renewals.
Why is it that when it comes to renewing a lease Archstone raises its monthly rates $100-200. If people "try" to go month-to-month with a lease---LOOK OUT for real sticker shock (Please read this statement carefully).
I welcome a dialogue about this issue and Archstone in general.
If there was a Renter's Bill of Rights, then I wouldn't even be talking about this.

Having lived there for 2 years of hell, I also have a hard time believing that the positive reviews were not written by someone paid to lie about the living conditions in this place.
